The Much-Loved Laughing Buddha Statue Returns to Everest Inn For 2026!
We are delighted to announce that the famed Laughing Buddha Statue will return to our restaurant and be proudly displayed from 13th January to 12th February 2026.
For many years, the statue stood at the entrance of the former Laughing Buddha Chinese Restaurant, becoming a familiar and cherished symbol of joy. When we later took over the site, owner Yadav reloaded it to his own garden where it was lovingly preserved.
Over time, the statue has never been forgotten, with customers reminiscing and asking us, “Where is the Laughing Buddha?”
So, to honour that deep community affection, the statue will temporarily return to its former home for a special four-week reunion. You are invited to dine with us and uphold the tradition of rubbing the Buddha’s belly for New Year blessings of luck, fortune and happiness.
Join us for this remarkable reunion - bookings can be made by contacting the team on 020 8852 7872 or emailing blackheath@everestinn.co.uk
